Burlington Public Library Foundation
The Burlington Public Library Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization established in 1982. For nearly 40 years, the Foundation has invested donations for a long-term impact with a goal of enhancing library services to improve the lives of individuals and advance the well-being of our community.
In the last fiscal year, the Foundation board granted $210,523 to the library to be able to:
-
Convert the parking lot lights to LED,
-
Remodel the former coffee shop space into The Create Space,
-
Enhance the library’s circulating collection,
-
Develop the Toddler Interactive Learning Center,
-
Add to the library’s collection of mobile hotspots that can be borrowed,
-
Replace computers,
-
Upgrade the library technology network,
-
Offer teen internships, and
-
Replace the library’s dated self checkout stations.
For the current fiscal year, the Foundation board has committed over $100,000 to address enhancements recommended by the Library Board of Trustees to collection development, building needs, technology upgrades, and program support.
The Library Foundation was a major donor for the beautiful new library facility that opened in 2006.
A special bequest to the Foundation from Dr. Rudy and Kay Buescher provides poinsettias annually in December.
The Foundation has also sponsored a Genealogy Workshop in April.
