Monday, October 8, 2018

Speaker Michael Luick-Thrams presents The Kaiser; The Klan and the Cow War: The Lasting Legacy of Social Reactions in American's Heartland, 1914-34 which centers on the anti-German sentiment that developed during World War 1. During this time, many German-Americans were assaulted, attached and eve lynched in a case from Illinois. Learn about this fascinating part of Iowa history over light refreshments. This program is supported by Humanities Iowa and the National Endowment of Humanities.
