  1. Revisiting A Sand County Almanac: A Turkish Perspective with Dr. Ufuk Özdag

    Please join us for a special program on Aldo Leopold’s International renown by Turkish Scholar, Dr. Ufuk Özdag of Hacettepe University, Ankara Turkey and is currently a visiting professor in the Environmental Studies Program Vassar College. She translated Leopold’s “A Sand County Almanac” into Turkish in 2013 and is the Founder and Director of the new Land Ethic Research Center in Ankara, TY. Dr. Özdag’s primary research interests include American environmental literature and comparative studies between literature and the visual arts. She has written several books including, Literature and the Land Ethic: Leopoldian thought in American Nature Writing. This event is sponsored by The Leopold Landscape Alliance and Friends of the Burlington Public Library. Light refreshments will be served following the program.     Music lovers will find themselves clapping, singing, dancing, jumping and sneezing along with the folk music of family entertainer, Jim Gill, as he strums his energetic, rhythmic tunes on the banjo at the library during his “Family Room Tour” musical performance, slated to be held in the library’s meeting rooms on Tuesday, June 27 at 2 pm.

  1. Mega Monday Lego Robotics ages 7+

    This class is geared for ages 7+ and requires registration. LEGO® bricks are naturally engaging to elementary students. When they are introduced into the learning environment they boost motivation. It’s through this active, engaged experience that LEGO Education Elementary teaching solutions help you to lay the foundation for lifelong learning. The hands-on solutions ignite children’s natural desire to explore and discover. Students will learn subjects like language, math, science, technology, and engineering more effectively while improving and developing their 21st-century skills, like problem solving, collaboration and communication.
